The ECW-281B-BT is a fan-less Embedded PC constructed of an Aluminum alloy with heavy duty metal and supporting Intel's Celeron J1900 processor and a maximum of 8GB DDR3L memory. A single 2.5" SATA HDD bay can also accept a SSD for internal storage. There is a full-size PCIe Mini card slot, which supports an mSATA and a half-size PCIe Mini card. The ECW-281B-BT has a 12VDC jack as well as a 3-pin terminal, which accepts 9~36 VDC.

The I/O ports on the unit consist of one USB 3.0, three USB 2.0, Two LAN ports and a 15-pin VGA out. There are also three RS-232 COM Ports, one RS-422/485 COM Ports and an optional 802.11b/g/n WiFi. The ECW-281B-BT is able to be mounted on a wall and is VESA 100 compatible. The operating range is from -20°C~60°C with air flow and the operating shock rating is half sine wave 5G, 11ms 3-axis (non-operational)
